Barcamp

Prepared virtual machines

The VMware image is based on Debian Squeeze. Since I created it in the US, it defaults to a US keyboard. You should be able to reset that with the command:

 dpkg-reconfigure console-data

If console-data isn't already installed

 aptitude install console-data

The root password is "opennms!"

There is a non-root user "opennms" with the same password.

This is a minimal Debian install, so we may need to download other packages during the class, but it shouldn't require many.

The network is set to bridge mode, so it will attempt to get an IP address different from the native laptop address. This is so that others in the class can see your machine.

Please use VMware (if you have it) or the free VMware player to insure that this system will run on your laptop. This will save us time the morning of the class. It should start everything on boot, so make sure you can access:

 http://[IP of server]:8980/opennms

and login with "admin" and a password of "admin".

Network

The conference network is a private 10.1.0.0/24 network. If you're interested, feel free and put your workshop in the following list.
